The changing international business climate has resulted in the need to reconsider the current international tax climate. This started with the OECD’s Base Erosion and Profit Shifting Project and has gone further with the OECD releasing a report setting out the principles around Pillar One and Pillar Two. Although South Africa has not yet implemented the principles set out by Pillar One and Pillar Two it is likely that these will be implemented in some form soon. This presentation is intended to set out a high-level overview of the principles set out by the OECD, the potential implementation by South Africa and a discussion of what this might mean for South African corporations.
